Director: Jan Philipp Gloger; Composer: Mozart; Conductor: Semyon Bychkov; Cast: (the cast may change on different dates) Corinne Winters
The Royal Opera House is putting on a production of Mozart's "Cosi Fan Tutte" (The Magic Flute).
Can two faithful couples have their affections changed by a harmless deception?
One man decides to find out, by betting his two friends that their partners will prove unfaithful in less than a day. Totally confident in the strength of their relationships, both men accept.
They pretend to get called away to war, only to return in disguise and woo the other's lover.
But in this most sophisticated of operas, no-one escapes unscathed...
Semyon Bychkov’s early career saw him conduct the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, before becoming Music Director at the Orchestre de Paris. He now holds the post of Gunter Wand Conducting Chair with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
