Daniel Harding will be conducting the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus at Barbican Hall in a performance of Mahler's "Symphony No 3", alongside alto Anna Larsson.
Daniel Harding conducted his first Proms concert at the age of 21 and is now Conductor Laureate with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He has also held the post of Principal Conductor with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre de Paris.
Anna Larsson is a Grammy-nominated Swedish contralto best-known for her interpretations of Mahler. She has sung with the Berlin Philhamonic Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is the resident orchestra of the Barbican Centre and is the oldest of London’s symphony orchestras. It was recently rated by Gramophone as one of the top five orchestras in the world.
The London Symphony Chorus is one of the country’s leading symphony choruses with more than 150 singers. It has a close association with the LSO.
