"Amadeus" picked up just about every Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe going, and is probably the most acclaimed film ever made about classical music.

It tells the story of the rivalry between Antonio Salieri and petulant young genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The Royal Albert Hall will be bringing the score vividly to life by playing it alongside the actual movie, so you can enjoy it like you've never heard it before -- live!

The music will be performed by the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields (who recorded the original film soundtrack), and the Philharmonia Chorus, conducted by Ludwig Wicki.

The Philharmonia Chorus consists of up to 150 singers, and is based in London. It performs everything from baroque to contemporary works, and works closely with the Philharmonia Orchestra and other orchestras of similar standing.

The Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields was founded by the great conductor Sir Neville Marriner, and take their name from the church in Trafalgar Square where they gave their first performance. As one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras, they regularly undertake tours and perform in venues around the world.
