The Hackney Empire is going for "Sleeping Beauty" as this year's panto... but rewritten and brought bang up to date.

It's going to be set in the beautiful realm of Hackneytopia; a land of fairies, unicorns and dragons (haven't they ever been to Hackney?) where a beautiful princess is born. But then a wicked fairy comes along (boo!) who casts a spell on Princess Aurora, changing her life forever!

Don't worry... I'm guessing that a handsome prince comes along and wakes her up with a kiss.

They are promising a spectacular family pantomime packed with colourful characters, knockabout comedy, show-stopping musical routines, and plenty of magic and sparkle.
