Read The London Craig blog> Craig has been here before. Read his review of watching a play at the Globe Theatre and also the Globe Theatre tour

Director -- Iqbal Khan
Written by -- William Shakespeare
Cast -- Ray Fearon, Tara Fitzgerald

Shakespeare's most brutal and poetic play tells the story of wannabe Scottish king Macbeth, who is driven to murder and madness by three wicked witches and his ruthless scheming wife.

When the old witches prophecise that he will be become king, he and Lady Macbeth set off on a journey of power, paranoia, betrayal... and murder.

But just as Macbeth seizes the throne and achieves his dream of power, the demons from his past rise up and haunt him.

Will he be able to cling to the defiled crown, or will he fall prey to a soul-corroding guilt? (I think we all know the answer to that!)

The Globes Theatre's season runs from April to October. Craig has been to see a play himself and thoroughly recommends it. It's not like any other theatre that you have been to. It's open-air for a start, and it has a standing area in the middle. The actors actually use this area for some of the scenes, and involve the crowd as if they are part of the cast. Check out Craig's review before you go, so you can get a feeling for what it's like inside.
