Written by the same guy that wrote "War Horse", "Private Peaceful" follows the life of a young soldier during the First Wold War -- Tommo Peaceful. As he sits awaiting the firing squad at dawn, he looks on his short and happy life in Devon: his first days at school; the accident that killed his father; and the time spent with the love of his life -- Molly.

Michael Morpurgo revealed that his inspiration for the play came during a visit he made to Ypres, where he was shocked to discover how many young men were shot for cowardice during the First World War.

The Theatre Royal Haymarket is right in the heart of the West End. Its unmistakable facade with six huge pillars and gold paintwork stand halfway up the Haymarket.
