Written by the same guy that wrote "War Horse", "Private Peaceful" follows the life of a young soldier during the First Wold War -- Tommo Peaceful. As he sits awaiting the firing squad at dawn, he looks on his short and happy life in Devon: his first days at school; the accident that killed his father; and the time spent with the love of his life -- Molly.
Michael Morpurgo revealed that his inspiration for the play came during a visit he made to Ypres, where he was shocked to discover how many young men were shot for cowardice during the First World War.
