The world famous Proms season continues at the Royal Albert Hall with a concert by Andrew Manze and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. They will be performing Vaughan Williams' "Symphony No. 4 in F minor", "Symphony No. 5 in D major" and "Symphony No. 6 in E minor".

The terracota-coloured Royal Albert Hall is one of London’s favourite concert venues. Whilst it remains most famous for classical music and the annual Prom concerts, it also holds rock and pop concerts, sports events and award ceremonies.

Swan LakeTchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”, at the Royal Albert Hall – 12th to 23rd June 2013 (except 17th)
Experience the spectacle of the Royal Albert Hall being transformed into a magical lake for this spectacular ‘in the round’ production of Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”. Boasting 120 performers from the English National Ballet and some spectacular sets and costumes, this romantic ballet will be sure to captivate your senses. 

 

Proms #1 — First Night of the Proms – 12th July 2013
The world famous Henry Wood Promenade Concerts, or ‘Proms’, are now into their 119th season. The two-month long classical extravanga starts at the Royal Albert Hall when the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performs Julian Anderson’s “Harmony”, Britten’s “Four Sea Interludes”, Rachmaninov’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”, Lutoslawski’s “Variations on a Theme by Paganini” and Vaughan Williams’ “A Sea Symphony”.

 

Proms #2 and 3 — Doctor Who 50th Anniversary – 13th to 14th July 2013
Proms #2 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who with a special concert of music from the TV series. Music will include Bizet’s “Habanera” (from “Carmen”), Debussy’s “La fille aux cheveux de lin” and Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D minor”.
