Michael Frayn's "Democracy" is a stylish thriller based on real-life events. It takes place during the final months of West German Chancellor Willy Brandt's term of office, and explores his suspicions that a Stasi spy has infiltrated his inner circle. As tensions mount, Brandt's precarious hold on his coalition government is pushed to the limits.

When Alexandra Del Lago’s career hits the rocks after the disastrous premiere of her comeback film, she seeks refuge in the arms of Chance Wayne, an young dreamer desperate to achieve his own movie stardom.
