Legendary war correspondant John Pilger is one of the world's greatest journalists. You can join him for an evening at the Queen Elizabeth Hall where he will be sharing his views on the world today, including the ins and outs of military intervention in the Middle East and the status of 'the West'.
Queen Elizabeth Hall is part of the Southbank Centre complex on the south bank of the Thames. Don’t be put off by the rather brutal concrete exterior, as its eclectic mix of performances feature classical, avant-garde music, world music and dance shows. It seats around 900 people.
Visit City Hall, and watch the Mayor of London – 2nd January to 27th December 2013
If you’ve already been to the House of Commons and seen the MPs debating, then why not try their little cousins at City Hall? Once a month the 25 assembly members will gather together to grill the Mayor about his policies, and Boris Johnson is one of the few politicians that people will happily sit and watch.
Solve a crime, at the Natural History Museum – 30th August 2013
“Crime Scene Live” is an award-winning event where you will step into the shoes of a CSI and, with the help of real forensic scientists and detectives, collect the evidence from a grisly Museum murder. Then you’ll witness the trial where real-life barristers will cross-examine the experts and call everything into question.
