Harry Belafonte will be discussing his life as a singer and a civil rights activist at the Royal Festival Hall.

Belafonte started his career in the US Navy during World War II, before embarking on a celebrated stage career. But it was his role acted as a conduit between Martin Luther King and the Kennedys that is perhaps the greatest triumph of his life.

This talk will coincide with the publication of his life story, "My Song".

The Royal Festival Hall is one of the world’s great concert halls, consisting of an auditorium, the Clore Ballroom, and several fine places to eat and drink along the river.

Visit City Hall, and watch the Mayor of London – 2nd January to 27th December 2013
If you’ve already been to the House of Commons and seen the MPs debating, then why not try their little cousins at City Hall? Once a month the 25 assembly members will gather together to grill the Mayor about his policies, and Boris Johnson is one of the few politicians that people will happily sit and watch.

Watch MPs debating in the Houses of Parliament – 7th January to 19th December 2013 (except 14th to 25th Feb, 26th Mar to 15th Apr, 21st May to 3rd Jun, 18th Jul to 2nd Sep, 13th Sep to 8th Oct, and 12th to 18th Nov)
Both UK residents and overseas visitors can enter the Houses of Parliament for free and watch the MPs debating. Galleries run around the top of both Chambers, looking down upon the MPs. The vistors section is at the back, looking towards the chair. All you have to do is queue up outside the Cromwell Green visitor entrance, and be prepared to wait for an hour or two hours.

Talk about Charles I’s execution — at Banqueting House – 24th June 2013
