The Cottesloe Theatre will be putting on a production of Errol John's play, "Moon On A Rainbow Shawl".

Old Mack's noisy yard in Trinidad is a cacophony of calypso beats and hymn tunes, where neighbours drink, fight and pass judgment, all whilst looking out for each other and trying to build a better life. But Ephraim is determined, and nothing is going to stop him escaping his dead-end job for a nw life in England -- not even the beautiful Rosa.

He demands that Cardinal Wolsey deliver him a divorce from the Pope, so that he can pursue Anne Boleyn. But with every passing month the King’s anger grows, and into this volatile court enters Thomas Cromwell. Will he be able to grant the King’s desire? 

 

East Is East“East is East”, with Jane Horrocks – 4th October 2014 to 3rd January 2015
Trafalgar Studios is putting on a production of “East is East”, starring Jane Horrocks. It tells the story of a Salford chip-shop owner, who is determined to give his kids a strict Muslim upbringing. But household tensions reach boiling point when their long-suffering mother gets caught in the cross fire. Who will she support, her husband and her marriage, or the free will of her children?
