Here's a treat for classical music lovers -- a free screening of the Royal Opera's "Falstaff" in Trafalgar Square.

This is a perfect (and cheap!) way to introduce your friends and family to the joys of classical music, because as well as the performance, there will also be additional entertainment laid on before and during the interval, with competitions, interviews, and exclusive footage taken backstage.

Note: You should arrive early to secure a good spot.

Heritage routes: Ride an old-style double-decker bus – Every day
The traditional old-style red double-decker bus (with a conductor and an open platform at the back) was a much-loved part of London’s furniture, so when they were phased out in 2005 for the new-style bendy buses, lots of people were aghast. Luckily, the Mayor decided to keep a few of the old buses running on two “heritage routes”.

And here are some more operas…

La BohemePuccini’s “La Boheme” — London Coliseum – 7th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd and 29th June 2013
“La Boheme” follows the story of two couples: the poet Rodolfo, who falls in love with pretty seamstress Mimi, and the painter Marcello, who enjoys the company of an on-off mistress Musetta. The opera’s exploration of the joy, anguish and heartbreak of young love, and its succession of passionate arias and duets, makes this the ultimate romantic opera.
