The Globe Theatre will be putting on a production of Shakespeare's patriotic history play "Henry V".

Set immediately before and after the events of the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, Shakespeare's masterful plot tells the story of Henry's campaign to reclaim his English possessions in Northern France.

The play follows on from Shakespeare's three other history plays "Richard II" and "Henry IV (Parts I & II)", in which Henry's father struggled to usurp the throne from his cousin. In those plays the young Prince Harry is a wild and undisciplined child, but now he's grown into a mature leader of men who embarks on a successful conquest of France.

The Globe Theatre is a perfect reconstruction of an Elizabethan playhouse that originally stood in Shakespeare’s day, and features wooden seats in balconies, and a stage that is open to the weather.
