The Courtauld Gallery is putting on a special exhibition which follows the friendship that developed between Piet Mondrian and Ben Nicholson -- two of the leading forces of abstract art.

Using major paintings and reliefs by both artists, its explores the parallel paths that Mondrian and Nicholson charted during the 1930s in their Hampstead studios.

The Courtauld Gallery houses one of Europe’s finest collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art, with works by Cézanne, Gauguin, Monet and more.

Bruegel to Freud: Prints from the Courtauld Gallery – 19th June to 21st September 2014
The Courtauld Gallery is putting together an exhibition called “Bruegel to Freud”, which will offer an introduction to the largest part of the Gallery’s collection – its prints. This display of thirty remarkable and intriguing works will span more than 500 years of art, and encompass a wide variety of printmaking techniques. It will include pieces by Mantegna, Bruegel, Canaletto, Picasso, Matisse and Freud.


Egon Schiele: The Radical Nude – 23rd October 2014 to 18th January 2015
The Courtauld Gallery is putting together an exhibition by the Austrian artist Ego Schiele, called “The Radical Nude”. The exhibition will feature more than thirty of his groundbreaking works, showcasing his highly original visions, and brutal depictions of the naked form.

Drop-in Drawing, at the National Portrait Gallery – Every Friday
Take inspiration from the great works around you, and do your own sketches in this artist-led session. There is a short introduction at 6.30 PM, but you are free to pop in (and out) whenever you like. The class is suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to accomplished artists. They even provide some materials!
