This exhibition will bring together more than 150 works from the Pre-Raphaelite movement in a variety of different media.
Led by Rossetti, Hunt and John Everett Millais, the Pre-Raphaelites first rose to prominence in the mid 19th-century, taking their inspiration from early Renaissance painting. The exhibition will include many famous Pre-Raphaelite works, and will also showcase some rarely seen masterpieces by Burne-Jones and Ford Madox Brown.
Tate Britain is home to a huge collection of British art from 1500 onwards, and includes works by David Hockney, Bacon, Blake, Hogarth, Gainsborough and Constable. JW Turner’s works are housed in their own gallery – the Clore Gallery.
