Buckingham Palace — Exclusive evening tour

to Buckingham Palace This Exclusive Evening Tour of Buckingham Palace offers the visitor a very special insight into the history and use of the State Rooms, and the works of art on display. The tour takes place in the company of an expert guide and includes a copy of the official guidebook and glass of champagne served in the Bow Room.

Hans-Peter Feldmann exhibition — Serpentine Gallery15 AprilHans-Peter Feldmann made his name in the 1970s with his expansive and encyclopaedic photographic series, which linked his life-long hobby of collecting with his practice as an archivist of visual culture. This will be Feldmann’s first solo show in a UK gallery since winning the 2010 Hugo Boss Prize.

“Misterman”, at the National Theatre15 AprilThomas Magill lives in Inishfree, a quaint little Irish town. As a fierce evangelist he wants to save this sinful place from itself. Dwain Flynn is a miserable drunk, and Mrs Cleary is a blasphemous flirt, but they aren’t listening. How far will Thomas go in his quest for salvation?

Yayoi Kusama exhibition15 AprilYayoi Kusama is probably best-known for her repeating dot patterns. Since 1977 this intriguing artist has spent much of her life living in a psychiatric institution, and her work has been touched by obsession and a desire to escape from psychological trauma.

Gesamtkunstwerk: New art from Germany15 AprilThe Saatchi Gallery is hosting an exhibition of new art from Germany called “Gesamtkunstwerk”. It will include pieces by Dirk Bell, Matti Braun, Andre Butzer, Max Frisinger, Thomas Helbig, Volker Hueller, Thomas Kiesewetter, Josephine Meckseper, Kirstine Roepstorff, Julian Rosefeldt, Markus Selg and Thomas Zipp.

Draw Your Weapons: The Art of Commando Comics15 AprilThis explosive exhibition features some of the best covers and illustrations from 50 years of the “Commando” comic series. “Draw Your Weapons: The Art of Commando Comics” will explore the history of the comic from its very first issue, through to its heroic subject matter and its enduring popularity.

Let’s Talk Sport LIVE! — with John Motson and Barry Hearn15 AprilFootball commentator John Motson and snooker supremo Barry Hearn will be joining Mihir Bose for an evening of insight and lively debate at Cadogan Hall. ‘Let’s Talk Sport LIVE’ will lift the lid on the behind-the-scenes shenanigans and sporting scandals in this, the Olympic year. You will also get the chance to throw your own questions into the ring.

See the London Olympic medals, at the British Museum15 AprilThe British Museum will be hosting a small exhibition showcasing all the medals that can be won at the London Olympics. Also on show will be medals from the 1908 and 1948 London Olympics. The display will tell the complete story of the medals from start to finish, from the mining of the metal to the creation of the designs, to the final casting at the Royal Mint.

“Picasso and Britain” exhibition15 April“Picasso and Britain” will explore the artist’s lifelong connections with this country. The exhibition will consist of 150 works charting Picasso’s rise in Britain, tracing the ways in which his work was exhibited and collected here during his lifetime. It will also examine the artist’s impact on 20th-century modernism.

Captain Scott’s Antartic Expedition15 AprilCaptain Robert Scott’s expedition to Antarctica in 1910-1913 was one of the most famous expedition’s of all-time. This extraordinary exhibition commemorates the centenary by collecting together artefacts used by his team, alongside a life-size representation of Scott’s base-camp, which still survives in Antarctica.
