Opera in London: Aida at Royal Albert Hall

to Royal Albert Hall London opera at the Royal Albert Hall. This spectacular version of Verdi's "Aida" will be performed 'in the round' amongst the ruins of Ancient Egypt. The epic work explores the tragic love triangle between the Ethiopian slave girl Aida, the King's daughter Amneris, and the Captain of the Guard.
Theatre show in London: Master Class at Vaudeville Theatre

to Vaudeville Theatre "Master Class" tells the story of iconic opera singer Maria Callas. Tyne Daley (of "Cagney and Lacey" fame) takes the role of the legendary diva, whose turbulent love life and fiery temperament led to much self-sacrifice and heartache. See the theatre show Master Class on Saturday 3rd Mar 2012, at the Vaudeville Theatre in London.

“Romeo and Juliet”, at the Royal Opera House3 MarchThe Royal Ballet will be putting on a production of Shakespeare’s tragic love story “Romeo And Juliet”, set to the music of Prokofiev’s exhilarating score. It tells the story of two star-crossed lovers, forbidden to see each other by the rivalry of their families.

Hajj — Journey to the heart of Islam3 MarchHajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, and every muslim must make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least one time in their lives. This major new exhibition will chart the history of this journey, exploring how pilgrims have tackled it through the centuries.

Guided tour of Somerset House3 MarchThis 45-minute tour of Somerset House will take in Tudor intrigues and the “King’s Shilling”, and the extravagant entertainments of the Georgian Enlightenment. As you explore the graceful staircases and atmospheric Deadhouse, you will get to see some scientific curiosities and learn more about British naval power.

Jeremy Deller: Joy In People3 MarchAs a former Turner Prize winner, Jeremy Deller has become hugely influential in the world of contemporary art. This exhibition will survey the breadth of his career, and provide an overview of his work so far. It will feature almost all of his major works, including his installations, photographs, videos, posters and banners.

Spend an evening looking at the stars…3 MarchIf you’re a budding astromomer and looking for a truly memorable experience, then how about booking a spot on a session at the Royal Observatory? The ticket will include a planetarium show exploring the stars on show that night, and the opportunity to look through the 18-tonne Victorian telescope.

David Hockney: A Bigger Picture3 MarchThis major new exhibition by David Hockney will span fifty years of his career, picking out the pieces which demonstrate Hockney’s fascination with the depiction of landscape. The exhibition will also include some of his iPad drawings, and a series of films which were shot on 18 cameras.

“The Duchess of Malfi”, at the Old Vic3 MarchThe Old Vic will be putting on a production of John Webster’s Jacobean tragedy “The Duchess of Malfi”, which tells the black and bloody story of the recently widowed Duchess, struggling to retain her dignity in the face of death.

“Legally Blonde”, at the Savoy Theatre3 MarchCollege cutie Elle Woods is riding high as the homecoming queen… but hits the ground with a bump when her boyfriend dumps her for someone serious. So Ellie does what all women do when they’re depressed — she hits the shops, and signs up for Harvard Law — proving that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

“Midnight Tango”, at the Aldwych Theatre3 March“Midnight Tango” was created by Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace — the same people who have been dazzling us with their sensual tango routines on TV’s “Strictly Come Dancing”. The show is set in downtown Buenos Aires and will take you on a journey through this intoxicating city.
