Verdi’s “Aida”, performed ‘in the round’

to Royal Albert Hall London opera at the Royal Albert Hall. This spectacular version of Verdi's "Aida" will be performed 'in the round' amongst the ruins of Ancient Egypt. The epic work explores the tragic love triangle between the Ethiopian slave girl Aida, the King's daughter Amneris, and the Captain of the Guard.

Richard Strauss: “Der Rosenkavalier”

London Coliseum Richard Strauss's Viennese comedy "Der Rosenkavalier" tells the tale of Octavian, who quickly loses his heart to Sophie when asked to deliver a rose on behalf of the elderly Baron Ochs. The opera Der Rosenkavalier will be running at the London Coliseum on Monday February 27th.

“Three Days In May”… with Warren Clarke27 February“Three Days in May” takes us behind the famous Downing Street door for three of the most pivotal days in British history. Newly installed as Prime Minister, Winston Churchill assembles the war cabinet and tries to persuade the appeasers that Britain’s only option is to fight on alone.

War photographs by Don McCullin27 FebruaryDon McCullin is recognised as one of Britain’s greatest war photographers. “Shaped By War” is a major new exhibition which explores both his life and work, and includes over 200 of his finest photographs, many which have not been seen in public.

David Lynch film season, at BFI Southbank27 FebruaryBFI Southbank will be celebrating the career of one of Hollywood’s most talked about directors with a month-long retrospective of David Lynch’s films. Films include “Blue Velvet”, “Dune”, “The Elephant Man”, “Eraserhead”, “Lost Highway” and “Wild At Heart”.

“Midnight Tango”, at the Aldwych Theatre27 February“Midnight Tango” was created by Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace — the same people who have been dazzling us with their sensual tango routines on TV’s “Strictly Come Dancing”. The show is set in downtown Buenos Aires and will take you on a journey through this intoxicating city.

Queen Elizabeth II, by Cecil Beaton27 FebruaryCecil Beaton photographed The Queen as she went from being a princess to a monarch and a mother. This exhibition will feature nearly 100 of his best portraits. Also included are extracts from Beaton’s own letters and diaries, which will reveal the intense planning and working practice of a royal sitting.

Captain Scott’s Antartic Expedition27 FebruaryCaptain Robert Scott’s expedition to Antarctica in 1910-1913 was one of the most famous expedition’s of all-time. This extraordinary exhibition commemorates the centenary by collecting together artefacts used by his team, alongside a life-size representation of Scott’s base-camp, which still survives in Antarctica.

David Hockney: A Bigger Picture27 FebruaryThis major new exhibition by David Hockney will span fifty years of his career, picking out the pieces which demonstrate Hockney’s fascination with the depiction of landscape. The exhibition will also include some of his iPad drawings, and a series of films which were shot on 18 cameras.

Jeremy Deller: Joy In People27 FebruaryAs a former Turner Prize winner, Jeremy Deller has become hugely influential in the world of contemporary art. This exhibition will survey the breadth of his career, and provide an overview of his work so far. It will feature almost all of his major works, including his installations, photographs, videos, posters and banners.

George Gershwin’s “Crazy For You”27 FebruaryGeorge Gershwin’s smash-hit musical “Crazy for You” is packed full of classic songs including “I Got Rhythm”, “Someone To Watch Over Me”, “Embraceable You” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It”.
