Indigo Over 35 years and 20 million albums sales into their career, the B-52s are still one of the world's great party bands. Much more than a one-hit wonder ("Love Shack", anybody?), their classic tracks include "Rock Lobster", "Roam" and "Deadbeat Club". Now you can see them play live when they come to London in August.

Kenwood House The "Live by the Lake" series at Kenwood House offers some world-class music with a breathtaking backdrop. There will also be some big screens next to the stage to show the performance in close-up. Tonight's concert will feature Britpop gods Suede, now happily reformed and onto their sixth studio album, "Bloodsports".

Keane — Live by the Lake

Kenwood House The "Live by the Lake" series at Kenwood House offers some world-class music with a breathtaking backdrop. There will also be some big screens next to the stage to show the performance in close-up. Tonight's concert will feature Brit Award winners Keane, whose latest album "Strangeland" was released last year. This August will see Keane performing live at the Kenwood House.

Monster Movie Weekend — “The Mummy”August 2013The British Museum will be putting on a Monster Movie Weekend, featuring three classic British films from the 1950s. Tonight’s movie will be “The Mummy” (PG) from 1959, starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

Proms #65 — Film Music PromAugust 2013Join conductor Keith Lockhart and the BBC Concert Orchestra for Proms #65 at the Royal Albert Hall — the “Film Music Prom” — which will include music from music from “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “Alien”, “Independence Day”, “Star Wars” and “Superman”.

Solve a crime, at the Natural History MuseumAugust 2013“Crime Scene Live” is an award-winning event where you will step into the shoes of a CSI and, with the help of real forensic scientists and detectives, collect the evidence from a grisly Museum murder. Then you’ll witness the trial where real-life barristers will cross-examine the experts and call everything into question.

Sing-A-Long-A GreaseAugust 2013Join John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John and the greasy gang of bikers in Sing-A-Long-A Grease! A compere will be on hand to whip the audience into a highschool frenzy. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, and full audience participation is essential!

Monster Movie Weekend — “Dracula”August 2013The British Museum will be putting on a Monster Movie Weekend, featuring three classic British films from the 1950s. Tonight’s movie will be the classic “Dracula” (12A) from 1958, starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing as Dr Van Helsing.

Live by the Lake — Singin’ In The RainAugust 2013Enjoy a screening of the classic movie “Singin’ In The Rain” in the beautiful outdoor setting of Kenwood House. The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will bring the music to life, playing alongside the re-mastered film as it is shown on the big screen. This unique experience is the perfect way to enjoy one of the greatest musical movies ever made.

Sleep overnight on the Golden HindeAugust 2013Become part of Sir Francis Drake’s crew and spend a night on the Golden Hinde. On arrival you will be dressed in Tudor clothes and after an evening of fun activities you will settle down and sleep by the cannons. Tudor snacks and dinner will be provided in the evening, along with a tasty breakfast in the morning.

The Bolshoi Ballet — “The Sleeping Beauty”August 2013The Royal Opera House welcomes the Bolshoi Ballet in its Golden Jubilee season, for a performance of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet “The Sleeping Beauty”. Tchaikovsky’s score is one of the finest in all classical music. It tells the story of Princess Aurora, cursed on her christening day by the wicked fairy Carabosse. She is doomed to prick her finger on a spindle and die. But a kind fairy tempers the curse so that the Princess will instead fall asleep for 100 years — and be woken by a handsome prince.

Ibrahim El-Salahi — A Visionary ModernistAugust 2013The Tate Modern is putting on an exhibition of works by African artist Ibrahim El-Salahi, bringing together 100 works from his five decade career. The exhibition will follow outlines Ibrahim’s personal journey from the Sudan to London, and back to Sudan in 1957. It was there that he established a new visual vocabulary, integrating Islamic, African, Arab and Western traditions. His most recent paintings reflect his joy for life, his spiritual faith, and a recognition of his place in the world.
