  • derekm – “Wigmore hall is like a cousin of cadogan hall -- the other small, classical music venue in London. But if I had to choose between the two, then wigmore hall gets my vote every time. Not because of the music -- the music at both venues is equally good -- but because of hall itself, which is so much nicer. Cadogan hall always reminds me of a rather plain church, with its pew-like seats and wooden stage. But wigmore hall is sumptous! The stage has mosaic-like imagary high above it, that dominates the few players on the stage below, and the whole room is that little bit darker, giving rise to a little bit more of a cosey atmosphere. If your classical music listening in London consists of the royal albert hall and opera house, then I thoroughly recommend giving this small venue a go. It might just surprise you.”
