Forget London Fashion Week… why not travel to the other side of town and give the up-and-coming talent a try instead. “Alternative Fashion Week” is all about the new fashion talent, when bright young designers gather to show off their latest designs.

Old Spitalfields is a huge covered market in London dating back to Victorian times. It served as the City’s main fruit and veg market until 1991, and now contains a wide variety of specialist stores.

In 2002 – in a terrible act of architectural vandalism – the western end was demolished to make way for an office complex, and – despite its listed status – there are persistent rumours that the eastern end will follow.
