Of the two memorials to Princess Di in Kensington Gardens, the Princess Diana Memorial Playground is undoubtedly the best. But that isn’t saying much… when you consider what the other one is.

The playground succeeds where the fountain fails because it is associated with one of Diana’s passions – kids.

It has several large-scale attractions and a Peter Pan theme. Your kids can clamber over a pirate ship, splash in the water fountains and woo-hoo in red indian wigwams.

You can find some more family-friendly things to do in our big list of children’s events in London. There are events today, tomorrow and at the weekend. You can also look for events in October, November and December

If you enjoy this then try: Elfin Oak (you can walk it in less than 2 mins); Museum of Childhood (catch the tube from Queensway to Museum of Childhood); Namco Funscape (catch the tube from Queensway to Namco Funscape) and Pollock’s Toy Museum (catch the tube from Queensway to Pollock’s Toy Museum).
