  •  Guest – “Despite the awful weather,broken-down trains and delayed tube, I made it to see saint etienne on 18 December. The turnout was astonishing given the travel disruption. Although the venue was very cold to begin with, this was soon forgotten when two good warm-up acts perfromed. The sainnts keep improving with age. Debsy is a highly competent back-up singer and frontwoman sarah cracknell is as stunning as ever. There waqs a mix a classics from years gone by, a new tune (dj) and three christmas songs including "i was born on christmas day". The event more than made up for the weather! .”
  • peter – “This is the closest big venue to me but they dont seem to have as many big acts as other places, which is annoying, but they still get the occassional big name come in. Theyve got plenty of bars dotted around the standing bit downstairs, so you dont have much of a crush to get the pints in. Its defintely the best when you stand in the bit downstairs, near the stage, that is where all the atmosphere is. You get an alright view upstairs, and more comfortable places to sit, but you dont feel as involved in whats going on, and I went there once and now I go downstairs all the time.”
