The Garrick Theatre is named after the 18th-century actor David Garrick – the Marlon Brando of his age, replacing stilted delivery with a more natural inflection.
He also lent a helping hand behind the scenes – to better writing, better stagecraft, and more promising promotions of plays to the public.
